Joyce Nowakowski

     Joyce Hillyer Nowakowski has served as organist at Farmville Baptist Church since July 18, 1999, when she was invited by Dr. Bob and Betty Baggott to play the organ for the morning worship service. She, along with her son, Josh Hillyer, became members soon after, and she has continued to serve as church organist. In addition, she has taught the college Sunday School class , served as Singles Director, and is currently teaching the Ladies Sunday School class.

     Joyce received a Bachelor of Arts degree, a Master's degree, and her Doctorate at Auburn University where she also taught for six years. She is currently a professor of education at LaGrange College where she is completing her fourteenth year of teaching. She enjoys traveling, reading, writing, and collecting crosses, bells, and books. She is married to Frank Nowakowski and is the proud mother of Josh Hillyer, who is an instructor at Auburn University and is married to Sarah, who is a teacher at Dean Road Elementary.
